Position Overview: Indoor Production Manager
The Indoor Production Manager is deeply involved in the daily operations of the nurseries, ensuring optimal conditions for growing all types of tissue culture seedlings, including fruits and trees. They are responsible for the successful and efficient operation of the nurseries. The role requires a manager who is detail-oriented, a keen problem-solver, and who takes a hands-on approach to leadership.
The Indoor Production Manager reports to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and works closely with the farm’s Production Manager and other colleagues.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Nursery Operations: Oversee all day-to-day operations of the shade houses for banana and vegetable seedlings.
- Propagation Management: Plan, supervise, and execute all propagation activities, including seed sowing, transplanting, and general nursery care.
- Quality Control: Diligently monitor the germination, growth, and overall quality of seedlings to ensure they meet the company’s high standards.
- Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous and accurate records of seed usage, seedling production numbers, losses, and sales orders.
- Inventory Management: Track and manage all nursery inputs, including seeds, soil media, fertilizers, pesticides, trays, and other essential supplies.
- Production Planning: Collaborate with senior management to forecast seedling demand and schedule production cycles accordingly.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate the supply of seedlings with farm operations, direct customers, and external buyers to ensure the timely delivery of healthy products.
- Team Leadership: Ensure all staff adhere to health, safety, and HR regulations, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Financial Input: Collaborate with senior staff to prepare budgets and financial reports for the nursery operations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Has a deep passion for agriculture and a minimum of two years’ experience in full-season farm or nursery management. A Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or General Agriculture is an advantage.

- Is dedicated, disciplined, and accurate in executing tasks and following the company’s strict hygiene standards.
