Finance Associate at Bioversity International Arusha
The Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), commonly referred to as ABC, is a global research partnership with a mission to improve lives through the conservation and use of agricultural biodiversity. They are seeking a dedicated Finance Associate to join their dynamic team in their Arusha office.
This role is ideal for a finance professional who wants to play a crucial part in the effective operation of an international organization. You will work closely with various teams to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and robust treasury operations, all while contributing to a mission that addresses global crises like malnutrition and climate change.
Key Responsibilities
As a Finance Associate, your key duties will include:
- Overseeing banking operations and ensuring all bank/cash accounts are reconciled.
- Ensuring payments and expenses are accurately documented, posted, and stored in line with financial procedures.
- Collaborating with HR and administrative teams to ensure timely payroll and statutory payments.
- Acting as the country’s focal point for audits, ensuring the timely submission of information and the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Managing cash flow to ensure adequate financial resources for daily operations.
- Preparing annual budgets for operations, personnel, and capital.
- Posting financial transactions into the UBW ERP system and analyzing accounts for timely reporting.
Required Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Education: A university degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional accounting certifications, such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA, are a significant advantage.
- Experience: At least seven (7) years of proven work experience in finance within an international organization, with expertise in budgeting, accounting, and project financial management.
- Skills: A strong command of the English language, excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, and a high degree of integrity and transparency are essential. You must also be proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Terms of Employment & Benefits
This is a nationally recruited, full-time position based in Arusha, Tanzania. The initial contract is for one year, with a three-month probation period. The position is graded at the BG 06 level, with a competitive basic salary of 2,608,634.00 Tanzania Shillings.
