Undergraduate Admissions: Programs and Entry Requirements
SAUT’s bachelor’s programs, typically lasting 3-4 years, are offered across various faculties, including Business Administration, Law, Education, and Engineering, with a focus on professional development and skills acquisition. Direct entry requires at least two principal passes in A-Level (ACSEE) subjects, totaling 4.0 points (A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1) in relevant areas, plus four O-Level (CSEE) passes with credits in English, Kiswahili, and subject-specific requirements, such as Mathematics for business or sciences. Equivalent entry is available for diploma or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) holders from NACTE-recognized institutions, provided they have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (B average or Second Class/Credit level; Upper Second or B+ for classified diplomas). Mature applicants (25 years and older) may qualify through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) with an entrance exam. Applicants can select up to four programs. Here are some key programs:

Diploma and Certificate Programs
SAUT offers non-degree programs (1-3 years) as foundational pathways, available at the main campus and centers, ideal for O-Level graduates or those seeking to upgrade their qualifications. These are NACTE-verified and lead to bachelor’s degrees via equivalent entry applications for Round II, which close on September 10, 2025. Entry requires four O-Level passes with credits in relevant subjects, such as English and Mathematics.
- Ordinary Diploma in Business Administration (2 years): Covers management basics. Requires four O-Level passes, including credits in Mathematics and English.
- Diploma in Law and Sharia (2 years): For legal support roles. Four O-Level passes with credits in English and Kiswahili.
- Diploma in Primary Education (2 years): Prepares for teaching—credits in English, Kiswahili, and a teaching subject.
- Certificate in Journalism and Mass Communication (1 year): Entry-level media skills. Minimum four O-Level passes in English or related.
- Certificate in Human Resource Management (1 year): Basic HR principles. Passes in English and Commerce.

Postgraduate Admissions
SAUT’s postgraduate programs, including master’s (18-24 months by coursework/dissertation), PhDs (3-5 years by thesis), and MPhil, are offered at the main campus and the Dar es Salaam Centre, with a focus on research in governance, education, and business. Applications for Round I close November 30, 2025. Eligibility for master’s: Relevant bachelor’s with upper second-class honors (GPA 3.5+) or lower second (GPA 2.7+) plus a postgraduate diploma or 2+ years’ work experience. For PhD: Master’s with GPA 3.0+ and a research proposal. Highlights include:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA, 18 months): For management professionals. Bachelor’s in business or related (GPA 2.7+), with experience preferred.
