The IAEA Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP) is now accepting applications. This prestigious fellowship aims to inspire and support young women in pursuing careers in nuclear-related fields. Named after the pioneering physicist and two-time Nobel laureate, Marie Curie, the program provides both scholarships and internship opportunities at the IAEA.

The programme’s core goal is to help increase the number of women in the nuclear field, supporting an inclusive and diverse workforce that drives global scientific and technological innovation.

About the Scholarship

This is a generous and comprehensive scholarship for master’s degree programmes in nuclear-related fields.

Aim and Benefits

The scholarship is designed to remove financial barriers for talented female students. Successful applicants are awarded:

  • Up to €20,000 for tuition costs.
  • Up to €20,000 for living costs.
  • The opportunity to pursue an internship for up to 12 months, facilitated by the IAEA or its partner organizations, upon completion of their studies.

Requirements and Qualifications

The IAEA MSCFP is open to female students from IAEA Member States who meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a female candidate.
  • Must be accepted by or enrolled in an accredited university in a master’s program in a nuclear-related field.
  • Preference is given to applicants with a strong academic record (75% or above, or GPA > 3.0 out of 4.0).

Required Documents

To be considered, you must submit the following documents with your online application:

  • A copy of your passport or national ID.
  • An official acceptance or admission letter from your university, which includes the field of study and duration of the programme.
  • A statement or confirmation of tuition fees.
  • Documents about any other scholarships you may have for the same programme.
  • At least one completed reference template sent directly to the MSCFP by your referee(s) by the application deadline. (Download the form here)
