Power Group Technologies (TZ) Ltd is a dynamic and fast-growing company specializing in power solutions, renewable energy, and electrical systems. They are currently seeking a highly experienced and dedicated professional to fill the role of Commissioning Manager – Electrical.

Position Summary
The Commissioning Manager – Electrical will lead all site-based electrical commissioning activities. This role requires a senior electrical engineer with extensive experience in commissioning high-voltage substations, power distribution systems, and automation/control interfaces. You will be responsible for ensuring that all systems are tested, documented, and handed over in line with quality, safety, and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
As the Commissioning Manager, you will:
- Lead and supervise the complete commissioning process of electrical systems, including transformers, HV/MV switchgear, and circuit breakers.
- Develop and execute detailed commissioning plans, test procedures, and handover packages.
- Oversee the testing of protection relays and communication protocols.
- Coordinate with SCADA, ECS, and Telecom teams to ensure the integrated system is commissioned.
- Manage a team of site commissioning engineers and technicians, ensuring compliance with safety standards and deadlines.
- Review engineering deliverables and ensure commissioning requirements are embedded in the design.
- Interface with subcontractors and vendors to organize support and system startup.
- Prepare progress reports and lead regular coordination meetings.
- Conduct troubleshooting for site issues encountered during commissioning.
- Ensure that all electrical work is compliant with IEC standards and site HSE regulations.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field is required.
- Experience: You must have 12-15 years of experience in commissioning large-scale electrical systems. A strong background in power systems, HV/MV substations, oil & gas environments, and SCADA integration is essential.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical commissioning practices, testing tools (e.g., Omicron, Megger), and high-voltage safety protocols. Proficiency in protection relay configuration and a solid understanding of international standards, such as IEC, IEEE, and NFPA, are also necessary.
