The UDSM March intake is exclusively for postgraduate programmes. This includes PhD, Masters, and Postgraduate Diploma degrees. This intake is not available for undergraduate (Bachelor’s) degrees.

Application Requirements

You must have all your scanned documents ready for upload.

  • For PhD: A relevant Masters Degree from a recognized university with a minimum GPA of 3.5. You must also submit a Research Concept Note (proposal).
  • For Masters: A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university with a minimum GPA of 2.7. Some programmes may accept a “Pass” degree if you also have a relevant Postgraduate Diploma.
  • For Postgraduate Diploma: A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma from a recognized institution.

How to Apply

The application deadline for the March 2026 intake is February 28, 2026.

  1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to the UDSM admission website.
  2. Select Programme: Click on the “Postgraduate” application tab.
  3. Create Account: Register a new account with a valid email and verify it.
  4. Pay Application Fee: Log in and generate a Control Number to pay the non-refundable fee (TZS 50,000 for Tanzanians / USD 50 for non-Tanzanians).
  5. Fill Form & Upload Documents: Complete all sections, including your academic history and programme choices. Select your desired course and be sure to choose the March Intake.
  6. Add Referees: Enter the contact details of your academic or professional referees.
  7. Submit: Review and submit your application.
