Design, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer at World Vision
World Vision is seeking a highly qualified Design, Monitoring & Evaluation (DM&E) Officer for a donor-funded project in the Lake Cluster of World Vision’s operation area, specifically in Maswa, Simiyu Region.
For over 75 years, World Vision has focused on helping vulnerable children overcome poverty. With a team of over 33,000 staff members in nearly 100 countries, their work is inspired by their Christian faith, aiming to transform the lives of children. This role presents an opportunity to join their mission.
The project aims to improve nutrition, nutrition-related rights, and gender equality for the most marginalized, including women, adolescent girls, and children under 5. The DM&E Officer will be crucial in ensuring the project’s success by providing technical guidance and support to meet organizational and donor standards.
Key Responsibilities
The DM&E Officer will play a vital role in various aspects of the project, ensuring it achieves its intended results.
- Implement Project Initiatives (30%): Lead the development and implementation of the project’s monitoring and evaluation plan. This includes developing annual plans, preparing reports (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual), and leading key M&E events like baselines, mid-term reviews, and final evaluations. You’ll also take part in data collection, cleaning, and analysis to ensure accurate reporting.
- Implement Project Learning, Information, and Knowledge System (30%): Maintain the project database, document challenges, lessons learned, and best practices. A key part of this is sharing quality program information and documenting success stories for various audiences, showcasing the project’s impact.
- Build Capacity (20%): Develop and disseminate monitoring templates and tools. Train staff, partners, and community members to enhance their capacity in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) for a more effective system.
- Networking and Visibility (15%): Establish and maintain strong relationships with partners, government officials (LGAs), and stakeholders. Ensure the project’s interventions and donors are recognized through branding and participation in various forums.
- Participate in Other Organizational Activities (5%): Represent the project and contribute to other organizational functions related to M&E and Grants Acquisition and Management (GAM).
Required Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates should have:
- Required Professional Experience:
- 3-5 years in program management.
- Demonstrated experience in learning, evidence, and documenting success stories.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in international donor-funded projects.
- Required Education:
- A Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Statistics, Epidemiology, Economics, Development studies/planning, Business Administration, or a related social science discipline.
- Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, presentation, coordination, and planning skills.
- Strong report-writing and analytical skills.
- High levels of integrity and the ability to work in a multicultural team.
- Experience working with government officials, multiple partners, and community groups.
Work Environment
This position requires the ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 50% of the time to the field in the Lake Cluster (Maswa and Meatu districts). The role is based in Maswa, Simiyu Region. Excellent written and spoken English is essential.
