TotalEnergies is seeking a Project Engineer to join its team in Dar es Salaam. This is a crucial role within the company’s Network Development team, focusing on the administration and implementation of various projects. This position offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Context & Environment
As a Project Engineer, you’ll be working closely with both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll coordinate with the Projects Manager, SFS team, NOMs, TMs, and Finance internally. Externally, you’ll be dealing with a wide range of partners, including contractors, engineering consultants, network dealers, and regulatory bodies like WMA, NEMC, EWURA, CRB, and ERB.
The main challenges in this role include the need for thorough project supervision due to the lack of consistently reliable contractors and ensuring strict adherence to HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) standards across all project operations.
Key Activities
The Project Engineer’s role is multifaceted, with a focus on project management, design, and implementation.
- Administering all HSEQ matters throughout the entire project implementation.
- Assisting the Projects Manager in developing basic and detailed project designs and related CAPEX.
- Implementing rehabilitation projects for existing stations and new station developments.
- Ensuring effective communication and conducting daily reviews of project progress with the Project Manager and contractors.
- Conducting quality and quantitative measures on service station facilities during projects.
- Scheduling daily reviews of project deviations and guiding the Projects Manager on corrective actions to stay within budget.
- Auditing contractors on their capabilities, including manpower, tools, equipment, and material management.
- Developing designs/schematic drawings, as well as project development costs, within the network.
Candidate Profile
To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in handling engineering duties.
- Proven Project Management skills.
- A strict commitment to HSEQ rules.
- Being a licensed engineer registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) is a significant advantage.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project is highly desirable.
- Excellent computer skills in the Microsoft Suite.
